2008 - DIRT CRATE LATE MODEL SPECIFICATIONS – 2008

DO NOT USE THESE RULES UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE

NOTE:  No one under the age of sixteen (16), is permitted in the Pits.  An acceptable picture ID is required at the Pit Entrance for anyone appearing to be age twenty-five (25), or younger.

THE STATEMENT: Unless it came on a stock, mass produced vehicle, it is not legal unless specified here!  If it came on a stock, mass produced vehicle and it is prohibited here, it is not legal!  All dimensions are referenced as the car is raced.  Your tire pressures, spring settings, etc. may put your car out of limits.  No variances are allowed when/if the cars are checked/weighed going onto the track unless the car was damaged at the track that day AND the Technical Inspector(s) approved the car to continue to race that day.  Following the race, decisions on variances for accidents during the race is at the discretion of the Technical Inspector(s).

DIRT CRATE LATE MODEL

Mufflers are required @ A-1 raceway: Schoenfeld # 112530 or # 112535

RELATIONSHIP TO OTHER CLASSES:  These cars use the most complex chassis in dirt track racing.  The frame is purpose built tubular steel and the bodies are fabricated of sheet aluminum.

ELIGIBLE MAKES/MODELS:   Any Chrysler, Ford, GM or Toyota model car that was/is mass-produced for the US market.

ENGINE:   Regardless of the body the engine must be a properly sealed GM 602 or 604 crate engine.

CHASSIS/BODY:  Reference the StormPay Crate Late Model rules.

In general the chassis/body and in effect all parts except the engine, are to be the same as the Lucas Oil Dirt Late Model Series and World of Outlaws Late Model Series.
